Werder Bremen ended Schalke 04`s title dreams last weekend when they beat them 2-0 away and with that win Werder Bremen still hold the third and last position that leads into Champions league qualifications with 60 points, just two points above Bayer Leverkusen.

Werder Bremen have been in fantastic form recently having four straight victories and also they have won seven out of the last eight Bundesliga matches. Interesting fact is that Claudio Pizarro has scored eleven times against in the previous matches against Hamburger SV.

Coach Thomas Schaaf can be satisfied because he has his full squad at disposal to choose from and only the substitute goalkeeper Christian Vander is injured and will not be on the team list. It has been a very turbulent season for HSV. Just prior the elimination by Fulham in the Europa League the coach Bruno Labbadia was sacked and replaced with interim manager Ricardo Moniz who will finish this season and this will be probably his last match in charge of this team.

There were some reports from the team that several of the players were in dispute with the former coach that resulted in some bad displays that put the team two places below the European spots. They do not have a chance for Europe next season so their only motivation will be to finish the season with a win. Interim coach Moniz will have to do without Marcell Jansen, Romeo Castelen and Paolo Guerrero. The Dutchman Eljero Elia is doubtful whether he can play as he is still not fully fit, but there are reports that he might get some playing time.
