EVERTON

Sticky Toffees. Or at least that's the situation they're in right now, as they have just 1 point from their 1st 3 games of the season. They've drawn their first and then lost the last two, but Everton did put on a bit of a show last year when entertaining the recently displaced champions.

After going a goal behind, Everton came back to thump United 3-1, and it was a reminder of what this team is capable of doing on their day, even if they are playing one of the best teams in the country.

David Moyes and his team will also get to see a familiar face return with United, old boy Wayne Rooney, who seems to have found his goalscoring boots again, netting away from home in Switzerland in the qualifier played on Tuesday evening.

The atmosphere always gets a bit tasty when Rooney returns with his new team, and I expect to see scouse Shrek get an earful from the Everton players and fans throughout the match.

Everton are dealing with a few injuries right now. I believe Louis Saha, who used to play for United, will be a late decision, along with captain Phil Neville, another old United player.

If all these players are involved, I expect to see the environenment get heated, meaning bookings, which is always a great market to look at in this fixture. Jermain Beckford is a new signing from Leeds, and he's impressed so far. I'd keep my eye on him in this match whether he plays alone or with Yakubu, who is not yet a definite starter.

MANCHESTER UNITED

So, a big revenge game for United, along with the fact that they have already fallen behind Chelsea after just 3 games.

United rolled over Newcastle United in the opener and West Ham in their last game, but did drop points to Fulham when they really should have won. They've blinked first and must recover here, as a result like last years could be a disaster, even at this early stage.

I expected the Red Devils to come out and turn things around last week, and thats exactly what they did. They have an excellent manager in charge who gets this team thinking straight when they have just slipped up. The team have no major injuries and he will have them fired up to give Everton the full treatment here, but again, this could mean some overzealous play, leading to cards.

Rio Ferdinand is going to make his return to the team, and the defence will be better off with him. It's been 3 years since Manchester last came away from this ground with a win, so I expect them to really go for it here.

Don't be surprised to see moments of magic from Rooney and Scholes. And if they get booked, or even sent off, don't look surprised either, cause I'm going to recommend having a wee bet on it.

BETTING VERDICT

Really cannot see Manchester United losing here, and at 1.93 the price on United is too big to pass up.

Take the home win, but take a good look at the bookings market too as there will be a lot of cards flashed on Saturday afternoon.
