What a game we have for us in Sydney this weekend. The Wallabies return with their first win of the comp and the All Blacks are yet to taste defeat.
Having said that the Kiwis will make 5 changes for this game and the contest could become closer with the confidence the Wallabies should now have, even though they are travelling back from South Africa.
Australia
What an exciting match they played in South Africa last weekend. They got up by a narrow margin and probably deserved the win after establishing a solid early lead. They should be buoyed with the win and look to get a home win against the biggest rivals before thinking about the games over in the European autumn.
The Wallabies will make only the one change with Lachie Turner coming in for an injured Drew Mitchell.
The front row will be set for another fierce contest with Benn Robinson, Stephen Moore and Salesi Ma'afu lining up and they will be supported with Mark Chisholm and Nathan Sharpe standing in the lock positions behind them.
The loose trio will have another tough game but a man like David Pocock will relish the challenge as he always does. He is joined by the skipper Rocky Elsom and big Ben McCalman the complete the trio that will need to be at their defensive best at the breakdown.
The halves see the Genia, Cooper combination line up once again and they will attempt to make things hard for the NZ fullback by using tricky kicks and also their fats, creative play to open up gaps in the middle of the field.
The backs see Turner standing on one wing with James O’Connor on the other wing. The centres are unchanged with Adam Ashley-Cooper and Matt Giteau getting the gig there and Kurtley Beale is the man at fullback. The centres will need to be strong to contain the likes of Nonu and Smith but Beale is the x-factor for the Wallaby side.
New Zealand
The All Blacks are well rested now and should get a win in Sydney against a Wallaby team that is conceding a lot of points each game. Even with a few changes in the ranks I think they can manage the win.
Owen Franks comes in at number 3 in place of his brother Ben. This will see him playing alongside Tony Woodcock and Kevan Mealamu in the All Black front row and this will be the contest of the match.
The locks are once again Brad Thorn and Tom Donnelly and they will do their best in terms of winning their own lineouts and trying to steal a couple of Wallaby lineouts.
Victor Vito is the new man in the loose forward trio and he will be joined by Kieran Read and Richie McCaw. Vito comes in for Jerome Kaino and his work at club level has been terrific so expect a big showing from him.
The halves are where the All Blacks might struggle with both positions having changes. Aaron Cruden comes in at fly half for Dan Carter and Cruden is one of the more promising youngsters in the world. Piri Weepu will get the nod ahead of Jimmy Cowan at scrum half.
The backs see one change with Israel Dagg replacing Joe Rokocoko on the wing, but all others remain the same. The other wing has the speedster Cory Jane and the centres will be filled by Nonu and Smith. The fullback Guernsey goes to Mils Muliaina.
