Replacing the coach didn’t proved to be an inspired solution, Daniel Isaila lost both matches since he took over the team from Gheorghe Multescu.

Timisoara’s relegation last season meant that they could spend another year in the first league, but it seems they won’t survive this season too. With only one victory in 14 games, Sportul is just one point above the bottom placed CS Mioveni.

Captain Costin Curelea, who at 27 could be considered one of the veterans of the squad, is not having a great season and only scored 3 goals so far when we are approaching the middle of the season. In the previous campaign he scored 9 goals, being Sportul’s key player.

Vaslui (5th W-7 D-3 L-4)

Vaslui did well against Sportul in the previous season, collecting six points from the encounters against the “Students”.

Despite starting the campaign as one of the favorites to win the title, Vaslui is only 5th at the moment, 9 points behind leader Dinamo. This could be explained by the fact that Vaslui is playing for the first time in the Europa League group stages and doing it quite well, being 2nd in a group with Sporting, Lazio and Zurich.

However, being banned from making transfers, Vaslui had to play in both competitions with a relatively small number of players and some injury related issues affected their performances.

The betting verdict

I have to mention once again that playing at home is not necessarily an advantage for Sportul, with clubs like Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid in Bucharest, Sportul couldn’t be very popular in the capital, so they are usually supported by a few hundreds spectators.

Vaslui is obviously the stronger squad, their players are among the best paid footballers from the league which can be noticed in the quality of their game. A relevant example would be that Brazilian striker Wesley already scored 14 goals this season in the championship (11) and Europa League (3), which is more than the number of goals Sportul scored this season.
