2006-08-26 - Hearts vs Inv. Cal. Thistle
A Sports Betting Pick by Beanie
ANALYSIS
I think just about any bet based on ICT looks good for the weekend - a lay of Hearts, the +1.25 AH, maybe even a little fancy on the outright, but I'll take what I think look generous odds from Fonbet.
ICT don't look quite as solid as they did under Craig Brewster, but they still retain much of the work ethic and good organisation that characterised his reign.
In Dennis Wyness and Craig Dargo they have retained a fit, mobile and dangerous strikeforce, and their defence is as imposing and physical as ever.
This bet is more down to Hearts' problems though...they have just travelled back from Greece where they were knocked out of the Champions League, and most of their players endured a torrid 90 minutes as their team were reduced to 9 men.
Hartley looked unfit, Bednar looks like he could still be out, Nielson has a suspension looming (must check if it applies for this one), Fyssas seemed to pick up a knock in Greece, and they don't look particularly potent in front of goal.
ICT haven't been at their best this season, but here's a little stat to mull over:
ICT haven't been beaten by more than 1 goal in 30 consecutive SPL games ... their last big loss being a 3:0 defeat at home to Falkirk in October 2005.
