It should not be forgotten that before their match with Fiorentina they did managed two good wins beating Napoli 3-0 at home, and also Frosinone away by 5-0. Those two good wins kept them in the top half of the standings. Now they will be looking to get the win here and manager Giampaolo will be looking for an attacking formation to go on the attack from the first minute.
As for the team news, they will be without the likes of stopper Regini and midfielder Sponara who is out injured, while Caprari who plays in attack is rated doubtful.
SPAL
Not many would have expected SPAL after six matches to be in the top half of the standings but thanks largely to an excellent start where they won three matches at the start and with eight points they are now in 9th spot. However they did not play well in their last two matches and they were beaten away by Fiorentina by 3-0 and at home to Sassuolo by 2-0.
Still manager Semplic can be satisfied what his side did has done in the last month and a half after they did eliminate second-division Spezia at the start of the season and managed to progress further in the Coppa Italia. Last season they struggled to survived in Serie A.
As for the team news, they will be without the likes of midfielders Viviani and Kurtic who are out injured.
