Despite being held to a slightly frustrating 0-0 draw at home by Ayr United in last weekend’s Scottish Championship fixture at McDiarmid Park, this Saturday afternoon’s hosts have another chance to return to winning ways, this time against second from bottom strugglers, Ross County.
St Johnstone had previously posted a four-match winning streak in the domestic second tier which consisted of collecting vital wins against Raith Rovers, Dunfermline Athletic, Airdrieonians and Queen’s Park respectively.

Ross County currently sit second from bottom in the Scottish Championship table and therefore occupy the relegation play-off spot ahead of this tough looking trip to McDiarmid Park to take on the league leaders St Johnstone.
The visitors have managed to earn just the single win so far in this season’s campaign which came in the form of a 2-0 home win against Raith Rovers last weekend but having also drawn four and lost four, assistant manager, John Robinson, and his side loom to have their work cut out this Saturday.
There is a glimmer of hope though for Ross County as they have drawn all four of their away games so far this term and no doubt they’ll be hoping they can also frustrate the league leaders this weekend as well.
