Bologna Team News
Bologna is 5th on the league table as this side simply refuses to lose. Even without any star players - or possibly because they don't have any - they keep performing well season after season, even now when they have European midweek duties to drain the energy.
Just look at this. Bologna first won 0-2 at Cagliari on 19th, then on 23rd they traveled to Bucharest to play FCSB and won 1-2, and then traveled to play Fiorentina on 26th. That match ended 2-2. Note the two goals scored in each match as well as the seven points won on three consecutive travels. That would be impressive even for the likes of Milan or Juventus. Especially Juventus.
And Bologna is a side that's known to lean heavily towards performing only at home; they normally don't do very well on the road.
Torino Team News
Torino finally combined two wins, as they first won 1-0 at home against Napoli and then took care of Genoa on the same stadium with a 2-1 eight days later. As a result of playing on Sunday, this game comes only three days later -- two full days of rest.
Torino has turned into a very tricky team to play against under the guidance of coach Baroni. It's as if he's changing the approach to what works best for the game. Win 1-0 against Roma and Napoli with a lot of last-ditch defending, play 3-3 with Lazio because Lazio doesn't defend well, win 2-1 as a favourite against Genoa.
It's probably best to think of Torino as a competent side that can do well against just about everybody.
Probable Lineups
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Skorupski - De Silvestri, Heggem, Heggem, Miranda - Ferguson, Freuler - Bernardeschi, Fabbian, Orsolini - Castro. Coach Italiano.
Torino (3-5-2): Paleari - Tameze, Maripan, Coco - Lazaro, Asslani, Casadei, Vlasic, Biraghi - Simeone, Adams. Coach Baroni.
Torino starting goalkepeer Israel is doubtful so Paleari will likely run out in his place.
The Betting Market
Bologna is a 1.75 favourite and it makes sense, this is a much better side, as tricky as Torino is. The bookmakers are expecting a low-scoring game, as indicated by the prices of 1.67 for Under 2.5 Goals and 1.70 for Both Teams To Score: NO.
The Betting Verdict
We all "know" both Bologna and Torino are underish teams, but stats don't lie. Their combined total goals average is 2.63 this season, which is a lot, and both teams started the season slow and then started getting involved in high-scoring affairs.
So, while the intuitive bet here would be the Under, all the value is on the Over for 2.20. All we need for this bet to go through is for both teams to score, and then at least one will score the second goal.
If it wasn't for the value in the 2.20 for Over, we'd gladly take the bet on Bologna for 1.75.
