Twente have put up stubborn resistance in recent weeks under coach John van den Brom as the hosts are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions which consist of two wins along with three draws.

The visitors had previously slumped to three defeats on the trot which included a 3-1 loss away from home at Premier League side crystal Palace in Europe along with back-to-back losses at the hands of PSV 5-1 and Heerenveen 3-1, so the jury is still out as to whether Maarten Martens’ side can transfer their midweek triumph onto the domestic front on Sunday.
AZ still remain a serious threat though to Twente’s ambitions of not only finishing in the top eight in the division, but perhaps also challenging for a Europa League spot as well, as the visitors had posted five wins on the trot prior to the three-match losing streak.
