Barcelona
Barcelona head into El Clasico with a perfect La Liga record, having won all nine of their opening league matches and collected 27 points. Hansi Flick’s side have been particularly impressive in attack, scoring freely throughout the campaign. Their 5-2 victory over Real Betis last weekend highlighted their ability to create chances and punish defensive mistakes.
However, Barcelona’s defensive vulnerabilities were exposed in their 4-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. They will also be without several important players, including Dani Olmo, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia and Roony Bardghji, while Jules Kounde is expected to miss out. These absences could make it harder to contain Real Madrid’s dangerous forwards.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid arrive in Barcelona in strong form after recording four consecutive victories in all competitions. Their recent 4-1 win over Sevilla was followed by another convincing 4-1 result against RB Leipzig in Europe, demonstrating the quality and firepower available to Jose Mourinho.
Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham will be central to Madrid’s attack, with Arda Guler and Yan Diomande also expected to add creativity and pace. Nevertheless, Madrid have significant absences: Vinicius Junior is suspended, while Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, and Raul Asensio are out with injury. Even without Vinicius, Madrid have enough attacking quality to threaten Barcelona, particularly if the hosts leave space behind their defensive line.
Betting Verdict
This fixture has the ingredients for an entertaining, high-scoring encounter. Barcelona’s attacking consistency is impressive, but their recent defensive struggles suggest that Real Madrid should have opportunities to score. Madrid, meanwhile, have scored four goals in each of their last two matches and possess the individual quality to exploit any defensive uncertainty.
The combination of Over 3.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score: Yes requires at least four goals, with both sides finding the net. That makes it a demanding selection, but both sides' attacking quality and defensive absences provide a reasonable basis to expect an open contest. The main risk is that the occasion produces a more cautious tactical battle than anticipated.

6.00+ for the DRAW? You’ve got to be kidding me!
I know Barcelona have started the La Liga season with nine wins from nine, but they have just travelled to Paris, been beaten 4-2 by PSG, and lost Dani Olmo to a muscle tear that is expected to keep him out for at least a month.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid had a routine home win in midweek. They’re sitting on seven wins and two defeats in the league, and they’ve got José Mourinho in charge.
Now, perhaps the bookies reckon these two sides simply don’t do draws. The last six meetings at the Nou Camp have produced three wins apiece, while the reverse fixtures have also favoured Real Madrid, with four wins and two defeats.
Maybe the thinking is that both sides will go all-out attack, with goals guaranteed and a draw about as likely as me turning down a decent betting price.
But have I mentioned that Mr “Park the Bus” Mourinho is in charge of Real Madrid these days?
He’s already lost two away games this season, and I can’t see him being particularly keen to open things up and risk a third defeat. Mourinho isn’t exactly renowned for entertaining the crowd when a more cautious approach will do the job.
I might be proved wrong. Barcelona and Real Madrid can both score goals for fun when facing weaker opposition, and this is obviously a different sort of game. But Barcelona have just been given a lesson by PSG, and the thought of Mourinho going gung-ho at the Nou Camp seems a little far-fetched.
At 6.00, the draw is very much on my radar. It’s a big price, and I’m not claiming it’s the most likely result. But it doesn’t need to be. We just need it to be more likely than the odds suggest.
And if these two decide to spend 90 minutes trying to outscore each other, I’ll hold my hands up and take the hit.
TAKE: The draw at 6.00 or better at Bet365
