Analysis:Champions Inter Milan comes up against Parma in what looks to be a close battle on the cards. Inter with the huge Champions League clash with Barcelona coming up in midweek, led by their former striker Zltan Ibrahimovic, will also aim to prove that their win over A.C Milan was not a fluke.
Inter showed that they have quality upfront with Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito taking over from Ibrahimovic as they are more than capable to feed the midfielders as well as finishing it themselves. In Wesley Sneijder and Thiago Motta they also have quality in the midfield department.
Jose Mounrinho knows he will not settle anything other than a win as that would see them fall further behind leaders Juventus. As it stands now they are two points behind Juventus but if they allow the gap to increase than things could prove difficult.
Parma had their share of the glories in the 90's when they won domestic and European titles as well as having had their famous battles with Inter. But as it is now, they are visiting the San Sir as the underdog and a newly promoted side.
Parma as it is now are in 6th position. They are level on points with Inter and trailing only on goal difference. They beat Catania in their first home game and that was after Antonio Di Natale’s last-gasp strike denied them what would have been a very impressive opening day win in Udine.
They have been boosted by some last minute deadline day signings so we could see the appearance of Blerim Dzemaili, Cristian Zaccardo and Nicola Amoruso today.
As for Inter Milan they are deprived of two players after theInternational midweek games. Sneijder, who picked up a knock on international duty, and long term absentee Esteban Cambiasso. Parma have no new reported injuries though.
