A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Tennis : ATP Montpellier
10th February 2019 – Start time 14:30 [Montpellier, France Time]
Introduction:
With both finalist being French that made sure he kept the tradition of at least one finalist being French which was the case in the last eight years. It has to be said that French players won won the title at least six times where only T. Berdych and A. Zverev disrupted that statistics. Whatever happens the number of titles won by French will incrase after this final as both players are French.
Herbert
Of late Herbert plays more in doubles together with N. Mahut and they make fairly good results. In doubles, Herbert occupies a very good fourth spot in the rankings, while in singles he is ranked 44th in th world. This is also his best ranking in his career but he has yet to win any titles in his career so far.
This will be his third final in his career and he will be hoping to make it third time lucky as he attempts to win his first title. Herbert lost his first final in Winston-Salem 2015, and last season he was also beaten in the tournament in Shenzhen. Before this tournament, he played in the tournament in Doha, where he lost to T. Berdych in the quarter-finals. In the Australian Open he reached the third round but lost to M. Raonic. He managed to avenged his defeat to Berdych in the semi-final of this tournament.
Tsonga
He had to battle with injuries in the past which had affected his form and rankings in the ATP list. At the moment he occupies 210 in the ATP rankings, with his best ranking coming in 2015 when he reached world number 5. In his 15 years professional career, he has won 16 titles where his best year was in 2017 as he had won four titles then.
Since the start of the year he has played in two tournaments. The first one was ATP 250 Series in Sydney where Tsonga reached the semi-finals but lost to D. Medvedev. After that he played in the Australian Open where he had to faced N. Djokovic in the third round due to his low rankings and lost. In the semi finals, Tsonga defeated R. Albot by 2-0.
