Aberdeen picked up a useful three-point haul on the weekend in the Scottish Premiership as The Dons registered a 1-0 win away from home at Livingston which extended their unbeaten run to six matches in all competitions.
Aberdeen have picked up an earlier 1-0 home win against Hearts together with a 1-1 draw at home with Motherwell, while Jimmy Thelin’s side have also picked up points in the UEFA Conference League by way of draws with AEK Larnaca and FC Noah.
However, an overall home record standing at 2-2-3 7/6 doesn’t inspire much confidence in Aberdeen gaining the straight win here at Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday night as the hosts possess the joint second-worst goalscoring tally at home in the division.
St Mirren will make their way to Pittodrie Stadium on the back of three league defeats on the trot having slumped to losses at the hands of Hibernian, Celtic and Dundee respectively and results overall so far in this season’s Premiership campaign have been poor.
Indeed, St Mirren sit second from bottom in the Premiership table having picked up just two wins in their opening 13 games in the Scottish top flight this term, while an away record of 1-1-4 5/11 is hardly inspirational either.
That said, Steve Robinson’s side hold a pretty steady record against Aberdeen in previous encounters as The Saints have lost just twice in the previous eight meetings and the visitors might just nick a narrow if unexpected win at Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday night.
