2011-11-26 - Sportul Studentesc vs Vaslui
A Sports Betting Pick by ROzsolt
Football: Romanian Liga 1
Venue: "Sportul", Bucuresti
Saturday 26th November - Kickoff time: 14:00 GMT+2
Sportul Studentesc (16th W-1 D-6 L-7)
Replacing the coach didn’t proved to be an inspired solution, Daniel Isaila lost both matches since he took over the team from Gheorghe Multescu.
Timisoara’s relegation last season meant that they could spend another year in the first league, but it seems they won’t survive this season too. With only one victory in 14 games, Sportul is just one point above the bottom placed CS Mioveni.
Captain Costin Curelea, who at 27 could be considered one of the veterans of the squad, is not having a great season and only scored 3 goals so far when we are approaching the middle of the season. In the previous campaign he scored 9 goals, being Sportul’s key player.
Sportul is yet to win a home game this season, but registered an impressive amount of draws, being the team with the most draw results from the league, six.
Sportul’s home form:

15.10.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 10 Sportul Studentesc 1 - 1 FCM Târgu-Mureş

Vaslui (5th W-7 D-3 L-4)
Vaslui did well against Sportul in the previous season, collecting six points from the encounters against the “Students”.
Despite starting the campaign as one of the favorites to win the title, Vaslui is only 5th at the moment, 9 points behind leader Dinamo. This could be explained by the fact that Vaslui is playing for the first time in the Europa League group stages and doing it quite well, being 2nd in a group with Sporting, Lazio and Zurich.
However, being banned from making transfers, Vaslui had to play in both competitions with a relatively small number of players and some injury related issues affected their performances.
Vaslui already lost three away games this season, but they were defeated by top rated teams by Romanian standards like Rapid Bucuresti, CFR Cluj and Astra.
Vaslui did well this season against teams from the bottom half of the table, defeating Concordia Chiajna (0-3), Brasov (1-2) and CS Mioveni (0-5).
Vaslui’s away form:
07.11.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 13 Gaz Metan Medias 1 - 1 FC Vaslui
24.10.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 11 Astra Ploiesti 1 - 0 FC Vaslui
03.10.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 9 Dacia Mioveni 0 - 5 FC Vaslui
19.09.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 7 CFR Cluj 2 - 0 FC Vaslui
28.08.2011 Liga 1 Etapa 5 FC Brasov 1 - 2 FC Vaslui
The betting verdict
I have to mention once again that playing at home is not necessarily an advantage for Sportul, with clubs like Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid in Bucharest, Sportul couldn’t be very popular in the capital, so they are usually supported by a few hundreds spectators.
Vaslui is obviously the stronger squad, their players are among the best paid footballers from the league which can be noticed in the quality of their game. A relevant example would be that Brazilian striker Wesley already scored 14 goals this season in the championship (11) and Europa League (3), which is more than the number of goals Sportul scored this season.
