Nurnberg suffered a convincing 1-3 home loss against Hertha Berlin last week. That was their fifth straight defeat and they are in big trouble now. Nurnberg are currently nailed on the very last spot at the table, after winning just twice in their 18 games so far.
Nurnberg are only 4 points behind safety at the moment, but their way of playing does not show they are capable of avoiding relegation to 2.Bundesliga.
Nurnberg are by far the worst away team in the Bundesliga, and together with Hannover 96 they are the only two teams without a single away victory this season.
Nurnberg have lost 6 of their 8 away games, showing miserable performances in almost all their away games. In each of their last 6 winless away games they have also conceded at least twice.

Mainz left better impression than Nurnberg in their games so far. They established themselves as solid mid-table team and I expect them to continue with their good performances.
Nurnberg must chase victory in this game, because one point will not help them at all. However, their attack is second-worst in the league plus they have failed to register a single away win this season.
Considering all factors, I believe that Mainz will narrowly win this game and put additional pressure to Nurnberg.
