Inverness will be hoping for a less turbulent season this time around in the Scottish third tier following last season’s ‘great escape’ which saw the hosts overcome a 15-point deficit along with positing back-to-back wins at the end of the last campaign to avoid dropping into the relegation play-off spot.

League Cup wins against Elgin City and East Kilbride along with back-to-back wins already in Scottish League One over the likes of Kelty Hearts and Peterhead have injected renewed confidence and belief amongst Scott Kellacher’s side.
Stenhousemuir finished last season’s League One campaign in 4th place which earned them a play-off spot for possible Championship football but Stenny were denied by Airdrieonians as they were soundly beaten 5-2 on aggregate over two legs.
The visitors produced a poor start to this new term though as they really struggled in the group stage of the League Cup, slipping to three defeats in four games as they came off second best against the likes of Greenock Morton, Motherwell and Clyde.
In addition, Stenhousemuir have failed to win any of their last seven away games and having lost six of these, Gary Naysmith’s side look to have their work cut out on Saturday afternoon.
