It’s still early days in this season’s Scottish Premiership campaign and Dundee United have produced a mixed bag of results so far this season as the hosts have picked up one win, two draws and a defeat in their opening four games.
Draws with Falkirk and Hibernian along with a 2-0 win just down the road at Dundee in the local derby as well as a 3-2 loss at home to Hearts has resulted in Dundee United finding themselves in a mid-table position of 6th place.
Dundee United have also been dumped out of the Scottish League Cup following a 2-1 loss away from home at Kilmarnock so the prospects of a home win on Tuesday night seems to hang in the balance somewhat.
Aberdeen have had to endure a dismal and disappointing season so far in the Scottish top flight as The Dons find themselves sitting bottom of the domestic top flight table with just one point under their belts.
That point came in the form of a 0-0 stalemate at home to Livingston but the visitors have also been dealt three defeats as well, suffering losses to the likes of Hearts, Celtic and newcomers Falkirk respectively.
Jimmy Thelin’s side have also made an early exit from the Scottish League Cup after being handed a 1-0 loss at home by Motherwell so they too look fairly unlikely to grab all three points at Tannadice Park on Tuesday night.

Both Dundee United and Aberdeen have produced disappointing starts to this new Scottish Premiership season and both below-par sides could cancel each other out on Tuesday night.
