With an increase of potential places for a ticket to World Cup 2026 on offer this time around, Chile will be kicking themselves that they couldn’t at least grab 7th place in the standings and an intercontinental play-off spot, but recent results will at least give Nicolas Cordova’s side a bit of a welcome boost.
Indeed, despite ending their qualifying campaign on a six-game winless run, Chile have since registered four wins in their subsequent five matches which includes two 2-1 victories over Peru, a 2-0 win against Russia and a 4-2 home win against Cape Verde.
However, Chile will head into this upcoming international friendly on the back of a surprisingly comprehensive 4-1 beating at the hands of New Zealand in the recent FIFA Series.
