Pisa Team News
Despite a goal scored against Atalanta and two scored against Napoli, in any game the most obvious outcome of a Pisa game is that Pisa won't score. If you watch one of their games you'll see why. There is zero football talent in these offensive players -- it's as if you told centre-backs to go forward and pass the ball to each other. It just never unsettles the opposing defence.
On the other end, Pisa is quite good at defending, though you wouldn't notice from the 4-0 defeat at Bologna. It was just one of those days. Most often, Pisa will concede zero or one goal, and, as a matter of fact, we can expect them to be extra cautious here as they just conceded four in their last outing.
Verona Team News
Verona managed to lose the home game to Sassuolo despite dominating the proceedings with 58% possession, 17 shots, 9 shots on target. What stats won't tell you is that Verona looked like they'll never score. Which they haven't. Even with substitutions, an increased offensive effort, and nothing to lose, Verona still never looked like they will score against that Sassuolo defence which isn't really a strong one. In fact, Sassuolo looked more likely to score, which they did.
This was, therefore, yet another in the long line of matches which Verona plays well but fails to win. This remains a side that can win on a good day, when variance goes their way, but in most cases they will simply lose because they aren't dangerous enough in offense. So far this season they have 0-3-3 and they haven't deserved more.
Probable Lineups
Verona (3-5-2): Montipo - Nunez, Nelsson, Frese - Belghali, Serdar, Gagliardini, Bernede, Bradaric - Giovane, Orban. Coach Zanetti.
Pisa (3-5-2): Šemper - Bonfanti, Caracciolo, Canestrelli - Toure, Akinsanmiro, Aebischer, Marin, Leris - Moreo, Nzola. Coach Gilardino.
The Betting Market
Pisa is actually favoured here, for the first time this season, as the price on them is 2.60, while Verona gets 2.88. Anything can happen here really. But one thing everyone is fairly certain of is that a high-scoring game will not happen - as Under 2.5 Goals is rewarded with a 1.53. You can get 2.50 on Over 2.5 Goals, which is a punt that's not even worth it.
Despite the low price on the Under, Both Teams To Score: NO is priced way higher, at 1.75. The bookmakers probably expect to see a 1-1.
The Betting Verdict
The price on Under 2.5 Goals is ridiculously low, yet fair. Verona is an utterly toothless side that can't score even when they're trailing at home against a relegation candidate, as they simply lack the decisiveness. On the other hand, Pisa boasts a competent defence that doesn't break down easily. Much stronger sides than Verona have looked impotent against them.
We see this as a possible first win for Pisa in this season, or a 0-0, as we're fairly certain Pisa will approach this game same as they do with all others. Keep the game low-scoring, hope that that one goal is yours.
There's a lot of value in that BTTS-No as we will indeed be witnessing a low-scoring game that justifies the price of 1.53 on the Under. And, if that's the case, then 1.75 on BTTS-No is a gift. Even if one side manages to score somehow, it will instantly fall back and start defending to protect their lead. This game will either end 0-0 or 1-0 for someone.
