Matias Fernandez-Pardo has just been signed and should be involved in the squad, while Tino Livramento is edging closer to a return. Joelinton, Dan Burn and William Osula are all expected to miss out.
Bournemouth
Marco Rose knows he has some big shoes to fill and he will be hoping his Bournemouth team do not continue to have late drama working against them. Late goals have cost Bournemouth points in both of the opening Premier League fixtures, but the summer transfer window is now close and The Cherries have retained key players that can help the manager begin to put some strong results on the board.
If Premier League matches lasted 83 minutes, Bournemouth would have beaten both Manchester City and Everton, but instead they have a single point on the board. This is not going to be a time to panic, but the team will travel to the North East hoping to be able to put in a full ninety minute performance and start to build some positive momentum.
Bournemouth conceded inside injury time in the 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend and that means they have won just 2 of the last 7 Premier League games played. That has been the case for Bournemouth, although there is enough to like about the performances and the squad will also be pretty confident heading to St James' Park where they have had so much recent success.
Matthias Jaissle has quickly established his voice with the Newcastle United players having taken over from Eddie Howe, and the response has been better than what many may have expected. Picking up 4 points against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur has given Newcastle United a boost, although there is room for improvement at both ends of the pitch.
Pace in the final third will always make Newcastle United dangerous, but Bournemouth have shown their own threat in the final third and the home team look a touch short in the win-draw-win market.
The Magpies have not had a very good recent record against Bournemouth and they have not been defending as well as the results may suggest. That is something that can be exploited by the away team and Bournemouth look capable of picking up a positive result in the early Saturday kick off slot this weekend.
