Portsmouth slipped to a third defeat in seven games in the Championship during the week when Pompey were dealt a 2-1 loss at home by the league leaders Coventry City which has left the south coast club sitting in 17th place in the domestic second tier table.

Stoke City also tasted defeat in the midweek Championship action as The Potters succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in the nation’s capital away from home at Millwall which ended a previously stubborn looking four-match unbeaten sequence.
Mark Robins’ side had previously picked up points in draws with Norwich City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers respectively, along with collecting all three points by way of a 1-0 home win over Wrexham.
The visitors will also be keen to further improve upon an inconsistent looking record away from home in the Championship on Saturday lunchtime as The Potters hold a record of 2-2-2 6/5 so far on their travels.
