3rd placed Millwall will go in search of a fourth consecutive win in the Championship when Alex Neil’s side play host to Leicester City at the New Den on Saturday afternoon having collected recent wins against West Brom, QPR and Stoke City respectively.
The bigger picture shows Millwall have suffered just one loss in their last seven games in the English second tier which came in the form of a heavy 4-0 loss at home to the league leaders Coventry City, but The Lions have also picked up four wins in the process including a previous 1-0 victory at home against Watford.
The arrival of manager Alex Neil last December was largely met with indifference but nevertheless the Scot guided Millwall to a creditable 8th place finish last season and the London club have produced an encouraging start to this new campaign as well.
Leicester City occupy a disappointing 9th place in the Championship table but nonetheless, The Foxes have slipped to just two defeats so far this season, both of which were handed out to Marti Cifuentes’ side on their travels.
The east midlands visitors have been involved in a number of draws this term though which has held The Foxes back from making inroads into the play-off pack although prior to their midweek loss away from home at Hull City, they had put together an eight-match unbeaten sequence.
Leicester City still remain unbeaten on home soil at the King Power Stadium but results away from home have shown an inconsistent streak as the visitors possess an away record that stands at 2-2-2 9/8 so far this term.
The Betting Verdict
The last meeting between Millwall and Leicester City ended in a 1-0 win for Millwall and a similar result could unfold at the Den on Saturday.
