Enzo Maresca was mainly pleased with the football his team produced, and it was an important result at the end of a week in which Chelsea's main Champions League rivals had all produced victories.
Once again Chelsea will begin this weekend in 4th place in the Premier League table, and they do kick off before both Newcastle United and Manchester City this time around. The side have a 6-3-6 away record in the top flight this season and they have scored 26 goals and conceded 22 in those matches.
Chelsea have won 5 of their last 6 games in all competitions, although it should be noted that the majority of those successes have been at Stamford Bridge. That statement is underlined by the fact that Chelsea have lost 5 of their last 6 away games in all competitions with the exception being a 1-2 win at Copenhagen in the Conference League Last 16 First Leg. Chelsea have lost their last 4 away Premier League fixtures.
Romeo Lavia is closing in on a return for Chelsea, but there will be no risks taken with a player who has been out for a significant period of time. Key players returned to action on Thursday to give Enzo Maresca a boost with two big months of football to be played.

Prediction
This may not have been a London derby that would have been in the minds of the Chelsea fans prior to Brentford's improvements and promotion into the Premier League, but results between the clubs means there has to be a lot of respect for Thomas Frank's team.
They managed to get the better of them in December, but Chelsea had not beaten Brentford in 5 Premier League games in a row before that.
After putting in plenty of effort in seeing off Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, this is a tough test for Chelsea in the early Sunday kick off and especially when you consider the poor away form they have produced over the last couple of months.
4 straight away Premier League defeats means there has to be some nervousness ahead of this short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.
However, Chelsea can take some confidence from the fact that Brentford have lost 6 of their last 8 home games in all competitions and have failed to produce a single win in that time.
The results do not paint the full picture and that is what Thomas Frank will be reminding his players- they gave Liverpool all they could handle in January before conceding two very late goals, while Brentford will feel they were much better than Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, but lost both of those matches too.
Chelsea have obvious qualities, but they are a team that looks vulnerable when teams are willing to push forward against them. The Blues have not really been able to really put their foot down in recent matches, even when moving into a strong position within those games, and you have to think Brentford can do enough to at least earn a point.
Playing at Stamford Bridge has helped Chelsea when the pressure has built up and they have managed to hold on for key results here recently. Getting that love and support from the stands is much more difficult to pick up away from home and a relatively young Chelsea team can sometimes crumble under the intensity that opponents can pick up against them when hosting.
A draw would be more likely than a Brentford win on current form, but backing the home team with a start looks sensible with two of the three possible results being secured at decent enough odds.
